At the VIP Reception for American Artist Howard Lamar, two paintings were displayed, on loan from the Japanese Imperial Collection, courtesy of Her Imperial Highness Princess Takamado.

American fine Artist Howard Lamar launched a global tour of exclusive events at the Tokyo American Club for a limited engagement,  private showing of his work, and a celebration of art and philanthropy, on January 27 & 28, 2017.

About Howard

Inspired and influenced by the French Modern masters, Lamar has earned international acclaim for his work. Thousands of Howard Lamar’s etchings, drypoints, serigraphs, stone lithographs, drawings, watercolors, pastels, oils, stone and bronze sculptures, painted glass, and large format painted ceramics have been purchased by prominent collectors worldwide and in Japan.  Lamar's work was featured by Microsoft, at their annual Alumni Network gathering as well as Leader's Magazine

With a career spanning decades, Howard Lamar’s commitment to philanthropy has supported numerous causes including education, performing arts, disaster relief and humanitarian efforts around the globe.  “It is rare to find an artist partner of the quality and sensitivity of Howard Lamar to so beautifully capture the spirit of what it means to be human and help others,” said Marylou Brannan, Executive Director of the Microsoft Alumni Foundation.

​The VIP event on the 28th was by invitation only for corporate and cultural leaders in Japan.
